Nadab and Abihu were priests, two sons of Aaron. They are known for dying after they offered 'strange fire' to God.
The bible refers to the 'sons of Aaron' both (1) in a literal, father/son way, and (2) in a more general sense, meaning the successive tribe all descended from Aaron (1 Chronicles 12:27), i.e. used in a collective sense, similar in meaning to the expression 'the sons of Israel'. In the first sense, i.e. as the natural and immediate father, Aaron, with his wife Elishebahad, had four sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. (Exodus 6:23)
Lev:10:1: And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. Num:3:4: And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the sight of Aaron their father.
Nadab
The first king was: Jeroboam The second king was: Nadab
Nadab followed in the footsteps of his father Jeroboam, who erected at Dan and Bethel, the two extremities of his kingdom, "golden calves," which he set up as symbols of God, enjoining the people not to go up any to worship at Salomon's Temple in Jerusalem, but to bring their offerings to the shrines he had erected. Thus, he became distinguished as the man "who made Israel to sin." This policy was followed by all the succeeding kings of Israel." Nadab, therefore was a bad king.
Nadab was king of Israel after Jeroboam I.
It doesn't actually say it in those words, but the principle is there. As for God giving life, look at Genesis 30:22 says "Then God remembered Rachel, and God gave heed to her and opened her womb." For God taking life, Job 2:6 "So the LORD said to Satan, 'Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life.'" God set a line that Satan couldn't cross, and that was "You can't take his life." If God sets that limit, then God has control. Acts 5:4 "Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God. And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it. " This verse basically states that God caused both Ananias and Sapphira to die because they lied about a matter. See also Leviticus 10:1&2 "Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. And fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD." God killed Nadab and Abihu because they did not worship Him in the manner that He required.
Aaron was three years older than Moses:Exodus 7:7 - And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.I've found no such comparison between the ages of Aaron and Miriam, but she comes last when the siblings are listed, implying that she was the youngest.Numbers 26:59 - The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and to Amram she bore Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.1 Chronicles 6:3 - The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.[Quotes from NKJV]
