Hello

First of all it is important to know who Jesus is. According to Matthew 3: 17 which shows that Jesus is the Son of God expressed in these words.

" A voice from the heavens said: " This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved". Which underlines the importance to take into consideration the inspired word of God that is beneficial for our teaching and setting things straight confirmed in 2 Timothy 3: 16,17.

According to John 14: 6 Jesus confirms that He is the way and the truth and the life.

1 The way: In what sense? Because all through our life we face daily decisions that have to be taken, which results in positive or negative outcomes. Such as getting married and the way to make the best choice.

The Book of Proverbs 31 describes what a good wife looks like. Proverbs 31: 30 reads. "Charm may be false, and beauty may be fleeting. But the woman who fears Jehovah God, will be praised.

Beauty can be skin deep and can hide an inner ugliness, and prettiness fades. That is what Proverbs 31: 30 is teaching . And in Matthew 4: 4 Jesus said that we must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah's mouth.

Matthew 5: 3 warns us about our spiritual need in these words " Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need. Vesre 5 reminds us the importance of being mild tempered, verse 7 the importance of being merciful, verse 9 the importance of being peace makers and so forth.

2: The truth: According to John 8: 32 Jesus said that " the truth will set you free". Set us free from what, you may ask. From all beliefs that we slave for. Such as that money and riches are the keys to happiness, traditions that do not honour God's standards and so forth.

3 Life: Of what life is Jesus speaking about in John 14: 6. Jesus is speaking about the life that has always been God's purpose right from the beginning when He created mankind. According to Genesis 2: 15-17 God's purpose was that humans live forever on earth and take care of it.

Adam knew that if he did not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad, he would not have died, confirmed in Genesis 2: 17. That order that was given to Adam by God would not have made any sense if Adam was created to grow old and finally die.

So to answer your question of why Jesus' teaching is still important, it is because it is lifesaving confirmed in 1 Timothy 2: 4,5 in these words. " Whose will is ( God's will ) that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.

Jesus' teachings allow us to:

1: Make the best decions in our life.

2: The truth frees us from any false beliefs.

3: According to Psalm 37: 9,29 the righteous will possess the earth and live forever on it, but the wicked ones will all be taken away from our beautiful planet.

Jesus told us to pray for God's Kingdom to come, where His will, will be done on earth. Read Matthew 6: 9,10 Daniel 2: 44

Kind regards
