Reuben (Genesis 49:1-3)
Reuben lost his birthright in the Bible because he slept with his father Jacob's concubine, Bilhah. This act was seen as disrespectful and dishonorable, leading to Reuben being passed over for the birthright blessing.

Jacob describes Reuben as his firstborn, but also as a person who is very unstable and therefore, will not excel. In Genesis" 49:3 "Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, the first sign of my strength, excelling in honor, excelling in power." This translates into Reuben is his first born and a symbol of Jacob's strength and youth. Among his sons, Reuben ranks first in both power as well as rank. However, by engaging in relations with his father's concubine, Bilhah, who is the mother of his brothers, he has shown immorality and instability.

Reuben, the firstborn son of Jacob and Leah in the Bible, is noted to have had a wife named Leah. In some interpretations, Reuben is also associated with a woman named Bilhah, who was Rachel's maidservant. However, the specific details about his wife are not extensively elaborated upon in the biblical texts. Reuben's role mainly revolves around his actions and lineage rather than his marital life.
