Depending on the definition of religion used by the people making the statement there are several possible reasons that some people exclude Buddhism from the definition of "religion":
As Buddhism has no need for a god, no savior or prophets, no deity given holy text, a different concept of "soul", no unbendable way of living life, no heaven r hell, no jugdement many would place it on the "philosophy" side of the religion/philosophy divide.
I think Buddhism and Shinto are some religions they practice there as well as Christianity and Baha'i.
Patience is a virtue in other religions. It is a virtue in Buddhism. Mind you some people think that Buddhism is not a religion...
Some of the SECTS of Buddhism are Theravada, Mahayana, Tibetan, and Zen Buddhism. Buddhism is a religion, and therefor it has no "religions".
in Japan
Some people see it as being more of a philosophy, than as a religion. Of course, some people say the same thing about Buddhism too.
Only some people practice Buddhism, or Zen, the majority are Communist. Communism is a political belief, not a religion...
"The answer is Buddhism. Buddhism has been popular among Tibetans for about 1,400 years, some people even do ascetic practices to show their honest to Buddhism. Buddhism is nearly the soul of Tibet. "
Hmm, I would have to say that it is not for lazy people. Being a Buddhist takes effort. We practice our religion diligently all day long every day. Since Buddhism is a contemplative religion, we think a lot about what we have done and why and what drives us and then compare this to the Buddha's teachings and adjust ourselves.
Some say that it is Buddhism...
The main Japanese religions are Shintoism and Buddhism. Some people are also Jewish, Christian or any other religion they choose.
