Look in the Psalms, there are several verses abut "shouting to the Lord" or "sing praises to him". But just as much those types of verses as there is dance before him or play music to him. I think the reason singing is so "important" and done so much in the christian faith is because it's something we all know how to do, and it's something we all understand. I personally dance before the Lord like David did because, well that's what David did in The Bible. I also sing, shout etc. There is no right or wrong way to worship. The true worship is giving of yourself even if you feel foolish. And true worship is everyday all the time, 24/7. Everything you do should bring glory to God. That is the reason we were created, to bring praise and honor to our King.
