Because wherever you see the LORD, it used to be GOD's name Jah, Jahovah or Yahweh depending where you are from. Ancient Hebrews knew GOD'S name as Yahweh.

The ancient leaders later thought it was unacceptable to call GOD by name so the word LORD was replaced as a substitute. In the east, it is considered rude and impolite to call an elder by his name. Rather a name such as Uncle, brother is most common in modern times.

Did Adam give all things their names?

ADAMAccording to the Bible Adam named the land animals, including birds, and his first human companion. -See Genesis Chapters 2 & 3.The Bible summarises genealogical matters in Chapter 5, and says of one of Adam's sons, "... and he [Adam] named him Seth." ~Gen 5:3 (NIV) This may have been a joint decision of both parents, because in the preceeding narrative, it tells us that Adam's wife "gave birth to a son and named him Seth." ~Gen 4:25.Adam and Eve may also have named all their children (See Genesis 5:3,4). This would seem logical and reasonable, but is not explicitly stated.ADAM'S DESCENDANTSAdam and his descendants were given the gift of language, which which they could name all sorts of things! e.g.# "Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh." ~Gen 4:25 # "Abraham named that place Jehovah-jireh*;...'" ~Gen 22:14 (NEB) * That is the LORD will provide. (NEB footnote)GODGod himself gave names to some things:* "And God said, 'Let there be light,...' God called the light 'day' and the darkness he called 'night'." ~Gen 1:3,4 * "God made the expanse... . God called the expanse 'sky'. .... God called the dry ground 'land', and the .... waters he callled 'seas'." ~Gen 1:8,10 * "When God created man.... . He created them male and female; ... he blessed them and called them 'man'." ~Gen 5:1 * God said to Abram, "And your name will not be called A′bram anymore, and your name must become Abraham, ..." ~Gen 17:5POST-BIBLICAL NAMESMoving on from the times when the bible was written, and if we consider the vast range of things that have come into existence after Adam died, such as telephones and computers, Adam, of course, did not name them!REVIEW QUESTION:So, did Adam give all things their names?

Name one time that an angels appears in the bible?

In the King James version In the Old Testament Gen 16:6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. Gen 16:7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. Gen 16:8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? And whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. Gen 16:9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. Gen 16:10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. Gen 16:11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. Gen 16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. Gen 16:13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? In the New Testament Luk 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, Luk 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luk 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luk 1:29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. Luk 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Luk 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luk 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Luk 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. Luk 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luk 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

What is the Moral lesson of the story of the creation?

1) God exists and is the Creator. By implication, this means that we should see God as the role-model, which in turn implies morality. 2) Humans are the pinnacle of Creation. That is why they were created last (Genesis ch.1). 3) Humans are made in the Divine image (Gen. ch.1). 4) We possess a God-given soul (this is one of the meanings of Gen. 1:27 and 2:7). 5) We were given free-will and are responsible to God (otherwise, the warning in Gen.2:17 would be unnecessary).

How many times is god used in chap 1 of gen?

In the King James version the word - God - appears 32 times in Chapter 1 of The Book of Genesis

What does 1 represents biblically?

Unity - 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.' The God Family is one. Think of it as a surname, like Smith. The Smith family may have 2 or more members but it is one family called Smith as the Divine Family is called God with the Father and Son. Soon the God Family will have 10s of billions of sons and daughters - hopefully we are part of that Family.
