Why is the Buddha statue the shape he is and what does it mean?

he was skinny and sorta looked like a teen and the reason why he looked like that was because in Buddhism there is a rule in Buddhism that you have to break away from all cravings No there isn't, I know because I'm buddhist.

Well there are quite a few different positions the Buddha is shown in for statues. He can be sitting, standing, reclining or sitting resting on his knee (resting Buddha).

When he is shown sitting or standing his hands can be in differnt positions, called mudras. These mudras incluing the palm up (no fear) which indicates the Buddha is telling us there is nothing to fear; touching Earth (Earth witness) which is how he told Maya that he has a witness to his enlightenment, or teaching mudra, which is the position the Buddha would take when teaching his follower. If he is sitting with his hands are in his lap then the Buddha is shown meditating. There are many more mudras but I don't know them all.

The reclining Buddha statues are showing the Buddha either after he passed away (arm at his side) or resting (arm supporting his head). the resting reclining Buddha represents peacefulness.

As for the sitting resting Buddha I am unsure but I believe it is to show the peacefulness the Buddha attain.
