The Presentation refers to Mary and Joseph presenting Our Blessed Lord in the Temple when He was eight days old to fulfill the law. It was the occasion of the Nunc Dimittis said by Simeon, which is recited each evening at Compline. We feel joy, as did St. Simeon, as our salvation in the person of Our Blessed Lord is at hand.
