Sex is a God-given gift (or why else would it be pleasureable?) to be used, however, in the correct way.
To the Christian, sex outside of a stable, committed, monogamous relationship such as marriage is not seen as ideal, and contra to what God designed sex for - for the production of children to be brought up in that stable relationship, and for bringing the couple closer together in love because of its pleasureable nature, where giving pleaseure is far more important than receiving cheap gratification.
Contra to popular belief, Christians are not 'against sex' - just against sexual promiscuity outside marriage. Within marriage, as long as both partners are happy with it, a full sexual relationship (ie, 'anything goes'!) is not simply tolerated by a loving God, but celebrated by Him.
