Why was the migration to Medina so important?

The Quiraishi tribe, Mohamed's own kinsmen, nearly killed him, and they had killed most of his followers. In fact when he arrived in Medina, he was badly wounded and, get this, he was treated by a Jewish doctor, or healer, it was one of those, that is why the Koran INITIALLY speaks favorably about the Jews. If you look at Koran chapters in chronological order that is; the Koran is not arranged chronologically that is, not the order in which Mohamed received his "revelations." Sorry for the use of quotes I'm not a muslim.

Medina, was deeply disatisfied with the power of the Quraishi tribe in the south, so the pool of people there, was ripe for the recruitment of followers. In fact, many Jews converted right off the bat, they were not forced, they hated the Quraishi so much. However other Jews were business partners, and therefore enemies of Mohamed, that is why they were either exhiled or executed.

The migration of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Makkah (or Mecca) to Yethrib (that was named later Medina or AlMadinah) in year 622 AD was important mainly for the following:

• Convert to Islam in Medina was very common and Islam spread very fast there.
• It was the declation of the first Islam state
• Prophet Muhammad received so much support from the People of Medina when Muslims in Medina were attacked many times by the pagans of Makkah (or Mecca) and other tribes in the peninsula.
• It marked out the declaration of many Islam teachings (as Prayers, fasting, banning alcohol drinking and gambling, ...) and morals.
