Not much. Corinth was located in NorthEast corner of Mississippi and was an important rail center for the Union troops. So some troops did travel down the Tennessee River and by rail to Corinth, then over to Memphis and down the Mississippi River.
Meridian was not important at all except that Confederate troops were stationed in that area.
