In the late 1930's the community of Whitacre Va. built a church and named it Timber Ridge Pentecostal Church. They prayed for God to bless the grounds and building to making it a place of Holiness. Many ministers have come and gone as well as Sunday school teachers since then.
But we have a Elder named Charles Frizmen who happens to be 100 years old, whom has saw the many changes take place , yet the word of God hasn't. He is in a nursing home and prays and fast two days out of the week, to this day.
Every year to year we have baptisms and marriages and funerals. We have hymn sings twice a month with every body's favorite cover dish treats. We have Guitars, banjo, fital, mandolin and piano and singers that will sing with a joyful noise. Here it is 2010 and this small community has two churches now. With black top roads and yellow lines and people that come from afar to worship and join in as part of the family. It's about soul winning, and when you see the young and the old accept our Lord, Jesus Christ as their personal savour, it's worth it all. We have about 20 or more people each week.
God started this church, anointed these grounds, and said He will never leave us nor forsake us. Trust in Him. Amen.
