Christian Bible scholars generally identify 5 groupings of literature in the Old Testament: The Pentatuech (Gen, Exo, Lev, Num, Deut; also called the Books of Moses), the books of History (Josh, Ruth, Judges, 1-2 Sam, 1-2 Kings, 1-2 Chronicles, Esther), the books of Wisdom (Job, Psa, Prov, Song, Eccl), the Major Prophets (meaning, the longer prophetic books, including Isa, Jer, Lam, Eze, Dan), and the Minor Prophets (i.e., the 12 shorter prophetic books).

Jewish scholars have the same 5 groups but different names for them.
