It was no anecdote- it was a legend on a sort of satirical (Coin) that was proffered during the Kennedy campaign and possibly administration the token, about the size of a half-dollar (Odd!) was bronze or copper and stamped Good for One Confession between John F.Kennedy and Pope John XXIII. the flip side bore the even more flippant slogan- In the Pope, We Hope!/ There was also a sicko song that opened up (John F Kennedy- DD- Doctor of Divinity! I never heard the whole song- it just happened a teacher tried to play it during the aftermath of the Kennedy assasination of l963, she abruptly stopped the record after the first verse- it was certainly nothing laudable, probably poking fun at Kennedy. The sordid centrifugal warp of politics, religion and sick humor- well it hasn"t happened recently but who knows if Caroline gets politically ambitious- and ambient.
