What good deeds did Saint Cecilia of Rome do?

Saint Cecilia was a martyr of the early Church, her feast was celebrated in the fourth century, so that goes back a ways. There are many legends about her (which you can read at the link below).

Cecilia was a beautiful young lady and of a noble Roman family. She was married to a pagan who she converted to Christianity. Even though she was married she remained a virgin and her husband joined her in her ministry to the needy.

Cecilia was not a 'religious' in terms of being a nun. She lived her life as a Christian in the manner we are all called upon by Christ to live. She fed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, clothing to the naked and buried the dead. She had the calling from her earliest years to live a life in the manner we are called by Our Lord to live. In the end she gave her life for her beliefs.

Saint Cecilia of Rome is known for her devotion to Christianity, her refusal to renounce her faith despite persecution, and her martyrdom. She is also associated with acts of charity and helping the less fortunate. Additionally, legend has it that she sang to God in her final moments, which is why she is considered the patron saint of music.
