Dictionaries define "the apocalypse" as a cosmic cataclysm in which God destroys the ruling powers of evil. Judaism does make mention of this, as the prayerbook includes the phrase "You (God) will remove the evil rulership from the Earth." However, knowledgeable Jews refrain from making detailed predictions, since "we won't know (exactly) how they (the relevant prophecies) will come to pass, until they have been fulfilled" (Maimonides, laws of Melachim ch.12).

There is no endemic Hebrew word for Apocalypse, and no such concept in Judaism. The term that Hebrew-speakers use for the apocalypse is: Apokalipsa (אפוקליפסה), but it only refers to the Christian concept of the End of Days and is not used in joking expressions, (i.e. It's not as if it's the Apocalypse.) Here are some related words: acharit hayamim (End of Days), yom ha-din (Day of Judgement), and milchemet gog umagog (War of Gog and Magog).
