What is the significance of the Vedas?

The Hindu religion revere the Vedas the same as Christians view The Bible. The significance of the Veda is that it tells the stories of gods that contain deep significance to the religion. Unlike the bible where the authorâ??s name is mentioned in each book, the Veda has no known author which personifies the mythical stories to followers.

The actual reason why Vedas are the most sacred Hindu books:

Every hymn of the vedas is like a part of a three dimenstional jigsaw pussle, which when put together reveals the supreme Hindu god Brahman. Even though the Vedic hymns are about different Vedic gods, since every god is supposed to originate from Brahman, it means that every Vedic hymn is indirectly about Brahman only. Thus, Brahman has a virtual existence in the Vedas.

Brahman gives us Brahma Jnana, the most reliable, universal and absolute knowledge, that doesn't change with time.

While gods come and go, Brahman has remained unchanged from thousands of years. The path of Hindu Dharma can only be defined by a Hindu who has attained Moksha and undestood Brahman.

Thus, Vedas are sacred because the supreme Hindu god Brahman, the source and controller of Hinduism, has a virtual existence in the Veda
