St. Joaquim (Joachim) is mentioned in neither historical or canonical writings, but is traditionally revered as the supposed father of Mary, mother of Jesus. We do not really know who was the father of Mary, and most probably Joaquim never really lived. Even Catholic tradition has little or nothing to say about the life of Joaquim, although he has been appointed patron saint of fathers, grandfathers and cabinet makers. If we wish to think of Saint Joaquim as a real, historical person, we may as well assign his occupation as cabinet maker, since tradition seems to make that connection.

Saint Bernard of Montjoux practiced several virtues, including humility, charity, and compassion. He demonstrated humility through his dedication to monastic life and service to others, often prioritizing the needs of his community over his own. His charity was evident in his efforts to care for the poor and promote social justice, while his compassion was reflected in his pastoral work, guiding and comforting those in spiritual need. These virtues contributed to his reputation as a key figure in the Cistercian reform movement.
