He decided to lead a life of perpetual sanctity, prayer, and charitable works. St. Dominic founded the Company of the Immaculate Conception. He was 15 years old at the time of his death during a cholera outbreak after giving assistance to the sick and dying. He was canonized in 1954 by Pope Pius XII.
