St. Dominic Savio was born in 1842 at Riva di Chieri, Turin, Italy. Dominic was a student of St. John Bosco, a priest, at the time of his first communion. He decided to lead a life of perpetual sanctity, prayer, and charitable works. St. Dominic founded the Company of the Immaculate Conception. He was 15 years old at the time of his death during a cholera outbreak after giving assistance to the sick and dying. He was canonized in 1954 by Pope Pius XII.

In art St. Dominic Savio is depicted as a devout youth, sometimes in the company of Don Bosco. He is the protector of altar boys, children's choirs, and pregnant women. His feast day is 6 May.

His story is moot on the subject of any siblings.
