Okay first, I'm not a preacher and I have no credentials on the subject but, This is how I perceive the gospel. It is an amazing history of mankind and offers great guidance for how we live our lives. But, the gospel as we know it Gideaon or King James versions are a result of the council of Nicea formed by the roman emperor Constantine when he made Christianity the official religion of Italy. The council determined what gospels would and would not be included in the christian bible. In other words they left some out. Over the years other gospels have been discovered and are hotly debated by the so called scholars. So...for me The Bible is an amazing document and I try to live by it's teachings but, I think men over time have tried to use it, and still do, for their own means. Just for fun, read Genesis and find that God created woman twice. once from the dust as with Adam and once from Adam's rib. There is a gospel that says the first woman was actually named Lillith and that she was in league with the devil.
AnswerTo personalize it, I'm not a preacher either, but I perceive the Gospel as the very Word of God.Joh 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
Joh 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
The Gospel of Luke is the longest gospel in the New Testament. It contains 24 chapters and provides a detailed account of the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Gospel of John is sometimes referred to as the Ecclesiastical Gospel due to its theological and spiritual nature, focusing on Jesus' divinity and teachings rather than historical events. It is revered in church teachings and worship.
No. According to many, the Gospel of John was written by the Apostle John.
Actually, the visit of the Magi to the baby Jesus is not recorded in Luke's gospel but in the Gospel of Matthew. The story can be found in Matthew 2:1-12. Luke's gospel includes the nativity story, but it focuses more on the shepherds who visited Jesus after his birth.
There is strong evidence that the first gospel, now known as Mark's Gospel, was written within two or three years of the year 70 CE. The second gospel, Matthew's Gospel is widely believed to have been written around 85 CE, although Raymond E. Brown (An Introduction to the New Testament) suggests an allowance of about ten years either way.
