Abraham had two grand sons Jacob and Esau from Isaac. He also had twelve grandsons from Ishmael and several more from the sons of his third wife Keturah. In all likelihood he also had many granddaughters but these were not recorded in The Bible.

How did Abraham know that it was the one true God who was calling him if he lived in a society of paganaism and idolotry?

Abraham's encounter with God is described in Genesis 12 where God calls him to leave his homeland. It is believed that God's call was accompanied by signs or revelations that indicated the authenticity of the divine presence to Abraham. Additionally, the personal nature of the encounter and the subsequent guidance and promises from God likely reinforced Abraham's belief in the one true God.

Did Abram's father Terah believe in God?

It is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible whether Terah, Abram's father, believed in God. However, Terah's family was from a region known for idol worship, so it is likely that he may have been influenced by these beliefs. It was Abram who later became the patriarch of monotheistic faith in God.

What do the names Abram and Abraham mean?

A:Abram means 'Exalted Father'. Abraham means 'Father of Many'. Undoubtedly the tradents who passed on these stories orally until they were finally written down later in the first millennium BCE needed prompts to help them to remember which names to associate with which storyline, so we have names such as these, or others such as Jacob: "Takes by the heel."

Who are Abrahams and Sarah sons in the bible in Genses?

Abraham actually had two sons, Sarah only had one. Let me explain. God had appeared to Abraham, who was called Abram back then, and told him that he was going to have a baby. Of course, Abram was unsure about this since he and his wife were each about one hundred years old. Sarah, who was called Sarai back then, heard this and she didn't believe it. So, she told Abram to take her slave, Hagar, and go have a baby. Back then, that wasn't considered a problem. So, Hagar and Abram had a baby named Ishmael. Much later on, Abram and Sarai had a baby and they named him Isaac. They were later renamed Abraham and Sarah.
