We lose track of Jeremiah after about 40 years as a prophet of God. Whether he continued longer we do not know and The Bible does not tell us. Christian tradition tells us that Jeremiah was stoned to death by the Jews at Tahpanhes. On the other hand there is a Jewish statement that on conquest of Egypt by Nebuchadnezzar, he, with Baruch, made his escape to Babylon, and died there
