Well one can't say that just because it is their job to kill something, it is moral. There are many people who make a living as mercenaries and thieves for hire. This is their job, but to most of society, their actions would be considered immoral. Also, it is illogical to say that just because others are doing something, you have the permission to do the same thing without consequence.

This topic in general is very highly debated among different religious sects. I am Christian Catholic and can only give you the Catholic answer to this question. The way the Church looks at it, if a man kills someone in order to defend his country's beliefs, and the beliefs of that country are parallel to the needs of a more peaceful, just, and loving mankind, then that man's actions are not sinful.

Whether or not a person's final destination is Hell is determined by God alone based on our sins compared to how we have learned and changed ourselves based on these mistakes. However, hypothetically, if a man's only questionable action was this form or killing and the previously mentioned circumstances hold true, based on the Catholic Church's teachings, the man would not go to hell.

The morality of killing in war is a complex ethical issue that varies across religious beliefs. Many religions have teachings that allow for justifiable killing in certain circumstances, such as self-defense or protecting others. Ultimately, whether someone goes to Hell is a spiritual question that depends on individual beliefs, repentance, and forgiveness.
