There's 2 things to consider to get the right answer.
For starters, the term 'hell' comes from the Greek and Hebrew words 'Sheol' and 'Hades', both which refer to the common grave of mankind (even animals). When people go there they return "to dust", a.k.a. break down to the bare elements they were created from and cease to exist. (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20) During this breakdown process, the person feels/knows nothing, completely unconscious. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6 & 10) The idea that hell is a fiery place of torment run by the Devil is a doctrine that was drummed up by clergy (who were inspired by pagan religions) to keep parishioners in fear. It is not a Bible teaching. The majority of those that die that are righteous (along with those that die before learning anything about Jehovah God or His principles, a.k.a. "the unrighteous") will be brought back to life on Earth. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28-29) Only a select few of people will go to Heaven, all which are handpicked by Jehovah and Jesus. (Revelation 14:1-4)
As for being saved, one must live a life in line with Bible teachings and due so to the end of one's life. This increases one's chances of being saved. (Matthew 24:13; Zephaniah 2:3)
So in short-Everyone that dies goes to 'hell' (except those that are going to Heaven), but if they're good/innocent or have no knowledge of Jehovah they'll be brought back to life. In addition, there will be righteous people that will survive Armageddon and will never experience death at all. (Proverbs 2:21-22; Revelation 7:9 & 14)
(New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)
The Puritans believed that God had chosen certain people to go to heaven or hell.
No we do not believe in purgatory, but we do believe in hell. We believe that when a person dies they remain in a temporary sleep until the second coming of Jesus. Heaven and Hell comes after the eternal judgment at the end of time
No. People in hell will already be physically dead. I think hell will be hell because in this place people are separated from God.
No.But if you don't except the Lord as your love and savior you will go to hell. The reason people go to hell is not having received Christ as Savior and Lord and not having their sins forgiven. According to the Bible, ANY unforgiven sin can take you to hell, no matter what particular sin it is. But you can ask Jesus to save you and forgive you, and you can repent (turn away) from your sins and then you won't have to go to hell.
Jesus will come and He will use the Word to destroy it. And it will be sentenced to in the Fiery Pit Of Hell where it will spend eternity along with all it's descendants[ people who don't believe in God and it's angels] only 144,000 virgin jews will be saved, everyone else alive will die and go to hell with the devil. revelation 14:3
You might be given hell by overly religious Christians, but no, you won't go to Hell if you don't go to Church. Even not reading the Bible won't make you go to Hell. Jesus Christ saved you. Not going to church, and not reading the Bible. Follow Jesus Christ, not a Christian religion.
Then in that case not a single person would be saved, and we all would go to hell.
A:Jesus is called the Saviour because people believethere is a hell to be saved from. Whether or not there really is a a hell becomes irrelevant as long as there are people who believe there is, and believe that Jesus can save them from hell.
His death on the cross an shedding of blood washes our sins so we don't have to go to hell and get to go to Heaven if your saved.
Jesus Christ died for you on the cross. So you didn't have to go to HELL. A place where you burn for eternity. Now shouldn't you be thankful for that?
Some common questions people have about hell include: What is hell like? Who goes to hell? Is hell eternal? Can people be saved from hell?
yes i just heard a testimony about that not long ago. prayers can go a long way
I am a christian and it's our belief but you go to heaven if you are saved by god which you can do by getting baptized or just saying a special prayer which is what i did and there is a hell for people that are mean and cruel to other people and dont get saved but in heaven you live forever you dont have to agree with me but thats a christians belief
That depends... If they believe in Jesus, they will not go to Hell. Some parts of God's word are guidelines, that God KNOWS that none of us will ever be able to follow. If they don't follow any parts of God's word (as in, they think it's all crap) they will go to Hell, because they are not saved by Jesus.
Anyone who rejects the Catholic Church will go to hell because the Catholic Church is necessary for salvation. However, if someone is innocently ignorant of the Catholic Church and its necessity, they may be saved if they cooperate with whatever grace they have. If they are, it will only be through Christ and His Church.
no, the spirit does not reside there. once a person is dead, the spirit goes back to the Lord if the soul is saved or go to hell if it is not.
You need religion for the simple fact that all belivers in God and that have not been saved by Jesus Christ will go to hell. that simple. But if you want to get all "politically correct" you can say that everyone needs something to believe in.
