Jesus made this statement. See Matthew 26:41 and Mark 14:38.
Yes. That was how he was brought up to obey the law. Also Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law. Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, Rom 8:4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
"Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control."Proverbs 25:28"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."1 Corinthians 10:13"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."Matthew 26:41
2 Corinthians 12:7 - And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. [NKJV]
Mahatma Gandhi is credited with this quote: "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." It reflects his belief in the power of forgiveness as a strength rather than a weakness.
Just before Judas' betrayal and nearing the time of His crucifixion, Jesus travelled to the Garden of Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives with His disciples so that He could pray. Before He went to pray, Jesus told the disciples to watch with Him as He prayed. But while Jesus was praying, His disciples fell asleep. Three separate times, Jesus came back during His time of prayer to find the disciples asleep. The following verses from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke include what Jesus said to them after He found them asleep: Luke 22:46 "And said unto them, 'Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.'" Matthew 26:40-41 "And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, 'What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.'" Mark 14:37-38 "And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, 'Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.'" Mark 14:41-42 "And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, 'Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.'" Matthew 26:45-46 "Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, 'Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.'" The entire account is found in Matthew 26:36-45, Mark 14:32-41, and Luke 22:39-46.
The quote, "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" is from the Bible. Mark 14:38 "Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Matthew 26:41 (King James): Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
That quote is from the character Wilkins Micawber in Charles Dickens' novel David Copperfield. Micawber is a jovial, well-intentioned character who often finds himself in financial difficulties.
The Flesh Is Weak was created in 1957.
The duration of The Flesh Is Weak is 1.47 hours.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The main Greek word for body is σῶμα (soma) and it is used in places like Matthew 26:26 "λάβετε φάγετε τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου" (Take, eat, this is my body.) The word "flesh" (often used by the apostle Paul) is σάρξ (sarx) and it is used in places like Matthew 26:41 "τὸ μὲν πνεῦμα πρόθυμον ἡ δὲ σὰρξ ἀσθενής" (The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.) and in a typical Paul sense in Romans 8:9 "ὑμεῖς δὲ οὐκ ἐστὲ ἐν σαρκὶ ἀλλὰ ἐν πνεύματι εἴπερ πνεῦμα θεοῦ οἰκεῖ ἐν ὑμῖν" (But don't be in flesh but in the spirit since the Spirit of God lives in you.)
