Almighty God has such an incredible desire to live in us and commune with us, the translators of the King James Bible used these strong words of their time to draw out the point of the ernestness on God's part to be our help, our strength, our healer, our Savior, our all sufficient God.
The Scripture you are referring to can be found in James 4:5 in The Bible, where it says, "Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, 'The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously'?" This verse is about the struggle against worldly desires and emphasizes the importance of resisting temptations and striving to live a life in alignment with God's will.
In the King James Bible, pride is often referred to as excessive self-esteem or arrogance, leading to a person's downfall. One of the most well-known scriptures on pride is Proverbs 16:18 which states, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
In Christianity, the "spirit of truth" is often believed to refer to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is seen as a guide who helps believers understand God's truth and empowers them to live according to it.
The Holy Spirit is mentioned around 90 times in the New Testament. It plays a significant role in guiding, empowering, and inspiring believers. The Holy Spirit is often referred to as the helper, comforter, and advocate.
1 Corinthians 15:27 in the King James Version states, "For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him." This verse means that God has placed all things under Jesus' authority, except for God himself who gave Jesus this authority. It emphasizes Jesus' supreme position as the ruler of all creation.
The closest one gets to this is: 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Some versions do use the term 'God-breathed' instead of 'given by inspiration of God', and some have this as an alternative in the margin. The thought is much the same. God is the originator of the scripture, although every individual word has not necessarily been directly dictated as the ten commandments were.
The future implications for mankind can vary widely depending on factors like technology advancement, climate change, global health issues, and social inequality. It is crucial for society to address these challenges collaboratively to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for all. Continued innovation, education, and global cooperation will be essential for navigating the complexities of the future.
The Scripture speaks of Steven:Acts 7:59New King James Version (NKJV) 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
The Bible says nothing about the human spirit being immortal. In every instance of reference to the human spirit, it says that it is something IN us. "...there is a spirit IN man..." (Job 32:8). "...the spirit WITHIN me constraineth me." (Job 32:18) "...renew a right spirit WITHIN ME." (Ps.51:10) "...when my spirit was overwhelmed WITHIN me..." (Ps.142:3). "...the Lord, which... formeth the spirit of man WITHIN him..." (Zech.12:1). "...what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is IN HIM..." (I Cor.2:11). "...the spirit that DWELLETH IN US lusteth to envy..." (James 4:5). All the Bible says about it is that it is the human intellect... the "mind." "...be renewed in the spirit of your MIND..." (Eph.4:23). But, the Bible does say that at death... the spirit: "...shall return unto God who gave it." (Eccle.12:7) The Bible says that we are unconscious at death (Eccle.9:5-10)... indicating that the spirit works in conjunction with the human brain. So, if the spirit returns to God at death... it's apparent that it is preserved with Him in some way that He returns to whatever body we resurrect in for Judgment Day. It is also evident that our spirit is what God saves in the Judgment. "...deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that THE SPIRIT MAY BE SAVED in the Day of the Lord Jesus." (I Cor.5:5) We don't know for sure. So far, no observation has been made of any spirit and there is no evidence for them either. Like all spiritual or religious ideas, it comes down to faith; if you believe we have spirits, then we do for you. If not then we don't.
There are two saints in the Gospels named James. Please specify James the Greater or James the Lesser.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (King James Version)19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.1 Corinthians 3:16 (King James Version)16Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? John 14:17 (King James Version)17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Acts 1:4 (King James Version)4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. These verses indicate a number of things about the temple of the Holy Spirit. This is the physical body of the Christian believer, in whom the Holy Spirit dwells, as was promised by Jesus. This is also referred to in the verse directly above as the 'promise of the Father.' The temple is a reference to the form or structure in which the Spirit dwells. The consequence of this is that the believer has an awesome responsibility to live up to the high calling as well as not to grieve the Holy Spirit of God.Every person on earth is, in a sense, a temple, since all are made in God's image. Not every person is a temple of the Holy Spirit, since not everyone is a Christian believer.
