Stigmata
According to Christian tradition, the sores on Jesus' feet and wrists refer to the wounds he suffered during his crucifixion. These wounds are seen as a symbol of Jesus' sacrifice and redemption for humanity's sins.
In the book of Revelation 1:15, it mentions that Jesus' feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, which some interpret as referring to his skin color. This description is not found in the book of Matthew.
Jesus of Nazareth was crucified according to the New Testament. Crucifixion is death by being tied to a cross (a giant wooden object shaped like an upright lowercase t without the curve at the bottom). Your body tries to support itself but eventually your muscles are unable to keep up the constant strain and you collapse forward and suffocate. Jesus, however, was a special case. According to the Bible he was nailed to the Cross. To support his weight the nails would have to be driven through his wrists, or possibly he was nailed through the hands and then tied to the cross. His feet were also nailed to the cross. Apparently according to the Bible Jesus was taking quite a long time to die. When Jesus finally apparently died, the Romans who executed him also stabbed him in the side to ensure his death.
Peter denied Jesus three times, just as Jesus had predicted. This occurred during Jesus's trial before his crucifixion.
Jesus' body was wrapped in linen cloths before being placed in the tomb.
St. Peter the Apostle is considered like Jesus in the Christian faith because he was very close to Jesus during his ministry and is often seen as a leader and key figure in the early Christian church, similarly to Jesus. Additionally, Peter is believed to have been given authority and responsibility by Jesus to lead and guide the church, mirroring Jesus' role as the founder and leader of Christianity.
The literary term in this sentence is simile, which is a figure of speech that compares two different things using "like" or "as". The comparison is made between his feet and sores to emphasize their appearance or condition.
When you see "like" or "as" you are dealing with a simile - the way to remember is "AS ___ AS ___ = A Simile"
