A:The canonical books of the Old Testament, written prior to the Maccabean period, say nothing about Satan being cast out of heaven. The Jews of the Apocalyptic period, from 200 BCE to 100 CE began to wonder why God had abandoned Israel and allowed evil to rule the world in their time. Such a degree of evil was more than God would ordain and greater than mere humans could cause. It must therefore be the work of a powerful spiritual force. This force would be the fallen angel, Satan, although Jews eventually returned to the earlier post-Exilic belief that Satan is the loyal assistant of God, tasked with testing the righteousness of men.

The Apocalyptic writers studied the Old Testament and proceeded to develop colourful accounts, as in the Book of Enoch. Enoch is taken on an inspection tour of Sheol, the shadowy underworld place of the dead, "the land of destruction, forgetfulness, and silence." During the journey he sees the sons of God in their fallen state and learns that these "angels, the children of heaven, saw and lusted after" the daughters of men.

The Book of Jubilees specified that nine parts of the angels fell while one part remained sinless and loyal to God. Medieval writers later reversed these proportions, so that only one-tenth of the angels fell.

The Book of the Secrets of Enoch (2 Enoch) added to the myth the significant new element that the angels rebelled on account of pride. The key passage is : "And one from out the order of angels, having turned away with the order that was under him, conceived of an impossible thought, to place his throne higher than the clouds above the earth, that he might become equal in rank to any power. And I threw him out from the height with his angels, and he was flying in the air continuously above the bottomless."

Christians see Satan as Lucifer in Isaiah 14:4-23, but this passage refers to the king of Babylon, who laid the nations low. It talks of the king's pomp and splendour, how he had ruled the nations in anger, and his fate after his overthrow by the king of Persia. He had compared himself to the Morning Star and was thus derisorily called 'Lucifer' (lucem ferre, which mean 'light-bearer', a name for the dawn appearance of the planet Venus) and had thought that he would ascend into heaven and sit among the stars, but was now himself persecuted. This text was misunderstood by early Christian scholars and even some Jewish scholars of the period, with both assuming that it referred to Satan or the devil. Modern Jewish scholars accept the literal reading of the text, which really does refer to the king, but conservative Christians continue to misinterpret it.

Answer:

The Bible passage in question is probably Revelation 12:9--

"And the Great Dragon was cast out, that Old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

This was the New Testament's "Spiritually-inspired" [II Tim.3:16] added detail of "Lucifer's" attempt to "go to heaven" ["...I will ascend into heaven..." - Isa.14:13] to exalt his throne above that of God.

The scope of this attempted rebellion of Satan against his Creator in the beginning isn't revealed in one book of the Bible; but bits and pieces have to be gleaned from different passages on the same subject "...here a little, and there a little..." - Isa.28:13] throughout [as the Holy Spirit opens a Faithful Believer's mind and heart to it].

Another connected passage to Satan's being "cast out of heaven" ["here a little"] is Jesus' own confession:

"...I BEHELD SATAN AS LIGHTNING FALL FROM HEAVEN." (Luke 10:18)

John tells in [John 1:1-3] that Jesus was the "WORD of God" in the beginning who was the "Creator" of the angels... the earth, the universe, and was the Almighty Creator God of the Old Testament. Jesus' testimony, above, to witnessing this "casting out of Satan" is further testimony to the necessity of "Faith" on the part of the Bible reader in order to "Believe" what's written therein.

In two more connected passages ["and there a little"]... both Peter and Jude reveal that this "casting out of Satan and his angels [demons] from heaven to earth" was an act of "imprisonment" or "restraint" of these "angels that sinned"... which is to be enforced until their "trial" at the conclusion of God's plan, that other Bible passages call "The Last Great Day" or "Judgment Day."

"...the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness UNTO THE JUDGMENT OF THE GREAT DAY." (Jude 1:6)

"For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but CAST THEM DOWN TO HELL [tartaroo; a spiritual condition of restraint; a restriction of their power, since physical metal chains don't work on spirit], and delivered them into chains of darkness, TO BE RESERVED UNTO JUDGMENT..." (II Peter 2:4).

Revelation 12, quoted above, which is one of several "inset chapters" in the storyline that brings the reader up to speed on certain event and character details; also has one other reference to "Satan's casting out":

"...Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the Devil IS COME DOWN UNTO YOU, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the Dragon saw that HE WAS CAST UNTO THE EARTH, he persecuted the Woman...".

There is much more in the Bible [here a little, and there a little] that fills in the big picture of this account... but these are the main passages that refer to the "casting Satan out" part of the story.

The verse that talks about Satan being thrown out of heaven is Revelation 12:7-9. It describes a war in heaven where Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan) and his angels, leading to their expulsion from heaven.

How many rebellious angels did God cast out of heaven?

God only cast out one angel which was Satan himself, but at that time he was called Lucifer. Lucifer was known as the angel of worship and praise in heaven. But soon he became so proud and arrogant that he wanted to take the place of God himself. That is the reason he was cast out of heaven and also a third of the angels followed him out of ignorance but they cast themselves out of heaven!!!! Actually, Bible scholars agree that a third of the angels were cast out with Satan: "And another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.4And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth . . . " (Rev. 12:3-4). "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him," (Rev. 12:9). Angels were referred to as the stars of heaven, and Satan is often referred to as the morning star because it shines brighter than all the other stars, but disappears at night.

What percent of angels did Satan take with him when he left heaven?

Nowhere does the Bible give any details of this nor of exactly how many angels there are in total both good and bad. Jesus indicated He could summon 12 legions of angels (a Roman legion being around 6,000 men) a total of 72,000 in all. But there is no indication that this is all there are. Nor do any references to angles elsewhere including numbers in the book of Revelation indicate that a 'census' count is provided since numbers are not the issue. In essence the question is unanswerable, and any answer would be a guess only, although it seems that a significant number rebelled.Another answer:Revelation 12:3, 4 - And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. The language is highly figurative, of course, and it's true that "numbers are not the issue," but many interpreters and informal Bible students alike take Satan to be the "fiery red dragon" of this passage, and his angels the "stars of heaven" that were thrown down to earth. IF SO, Satan appropriated a third of the angels to his service.

Why did God made Humans?

It is well known that there were problems in heaven some time back and heaven lost Satan and his followers. This left some vacancies. It is also well known that Satan had a very important position in heaven, something of the order of the right hand man to God. Now these cast outs were instated in their positions by creation - assumed - . Most of us believe that Jesus came to earth to die for our sins and provide for us a way to obtain a place in heaven. This is probably not untrue, but if you examine the process he went threw it is very much similar to our scenario. It is proposed that Jesus did this to pledge/prove his obedience and love for God to get the position Satan previously occupied in heaven. This implies that we are in the same position were God will not accept us into heaven (by creation as the original cast outs) but first we will have to learn who He is, prove our love and obedience to him before we can become part of his kingdom and fill the vacancies. We are therefore here on earth as an invitation to join his kingdom. The Bible specifies that when we join heaven, we will be ranked even higher than the existing angels. If we do not accept this invitation, investigation and proposed research suggests that we will simply be killed off - seize to exist. The choice to make is therefore is not very difficult. Any Comments?

Is God Satan's Father?

No. God is Satan's creator, however, when Satan tried to become like God, God threw him out of heaven, Satan took a third of the angels with him too. So no, God is not Satan's father, but create.EDIT: Yes, God is Satan's father. Because Satan is an angel that turned evil and god is the father of all both good and evil.Answer:The Scriptures tell us that God created Lucifer (Satan), who was perfect in the beginning, but had a desire to usurp God. "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." Isaiah 14:12-15. God does not create evil. It is rebellion of the created being that produces evil.
