Nothing good ever comes by swearing to GOD and telling lies. My brother swore on his daughter's life that he was telling the truth to his wife that he was not gambling. Then bad things started to happen to their daughter, first her grade went from being a honor student to failing and got kicked out of college, she lost her job, got pregnant then miscarried the baby, almost over dosed on drugs and died, and got arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. It was like somebody put a bad luck spell on her. She was a good kid before the bad luck started. She was not the only one affected by the bad luck, her father lost his job and got kicked out of their house and his wife almost filed for divorce. My brother got to thinking that he cause the bad luck, he went to his priest and asked what he should do. The priest told him to confess to his wife and tell her that he lied about gambling and the priest also told him to swear to god in front of his wife and to tell the truth to GOD and his wife and if he did this GOD would stop punishing him and forgive him. My brother finally did this and their life has gotten better. He found a good job, his daughter is in rehab, and went back to community college.

So you better never lie when you swear to GOD if you do, you and your family will pay the price. Just tell the truth no good ever comes from lying. If you did lie then you better get together with the person you lied to and GOD and tell the truth to both of them and then swear to GOD you are telling the truth. NEVER EVER EVER LIE WHEN YOU SWEAR TO GOD OR ON ANOTHER PERSON LIFE BECAUSE GOD WILL MAKE YOU PAY. I hope this helps you with you question.

Swearing on a deceased person's soul is a personal act and carries no actual consequences or supernatural powers. If you were lying, it is still considered dishonesty, and the impact would be more on your integrity and trustworthiness rather than any external force related to the deceased person's soul. It is always best to be truthful and avoid making false commitments or promises.

With regard to the soul of the person whose name was invoked to support the lie, nothing. With regard to the soul of the one lying, the lie is a sin against God who regards the truth as sacred. All sin endangers the soul and serves to separate persons from perfect communion with God and relational peace with other persons.

In the Jewish and Christian tradition, lying or "bearing false witness" is a violation of the 9th Commandment (or for Roman Catholics & Lutherans, the 8th Commandment). Trading in falsehood replicates the works of the devil, who as Jesus said, "was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him." As Jesus concluded of the devil (or Satan), "When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (Gospel According to St. John 8:44).

Jesus urged that one not "swear by" anyone or anything...

Matthew 5:33-37

33 "Again you have heard that it was said to the men of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' 34 But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 Let what you say be simply `Yes' or `No'; anything more than this comes from evil.

Saint James likewise affirms this Gospel command...

James 5:12

12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no be no, that you may not fall under condemnation.

Answer:

Whoever swears must swear with God alone, and fulfil his word.

Any other swear is considered false, but brings punishment as well.

In North Carolina if there is no will can the brothers of the deceased override the children's claim to the estate if witnessess swear the deceased left his entire estate to his brothers?

In North Carolina, if there is no will, the deceased's estate would generally be distributed according to intestacy laws, prioritizing spouses and then children. If witnesses claim the deceased left the estate to his brothers, this may need to be proven in court, and the court would consider evidence and applicable laws to determine the rightful heirs. Ultimately, it would depend on the specific facts and circumstances of the case.
