The priest told him to confess to his wife and tell her that he lied about gambling and the priest also told him to swear to god in front of his wife and to tell the truth to GOD and his wife and if he did this GOD would stop punishing him and forgive him. My brother finally did this and their life has gotten better. He found a good job, his daughter is in rehab, and went back to community college. So you better never lie when you swear to GOD if you do, you and your family will pay the price. Just tell the truth no good ever comes from lying. If you did lie then you better get together with the person you lied to and GOD and tell the truth to both of them and then swear to GOD you are telling the truth. NEVER EVER EVER LIE WHEN YOU SWEAR TO GOD OR ON ANOTHER PERSON LIFE BECAUSE GOD WILL MAKE YOU PAY. I hope this helps you with you question.
