Lal Quila, was originally built by Vikramaditya The 3rd. A Hindu Emperor who ruled Indraprastha (Now Delhi) I was a Shiv Mandira then, and was built to commomarate a iron shiv lingam. The lingam was rusted and thus had red colour and killa or qilla is for lingam. so was the name derived. Red lingam. The present Lal Qila or the fortress was built by shahjahan after the Temple was destroyed by the invading Muslims. The rocks etc used belong to the original temple. You can still find the Trishul of lord Shiva on the pinnacle of the building. This research was done by his holiness Shree Shree 1008 Daddah Ji Maharaj, but his work was destroyed by the so called secular Govt. of India and he is missing since then!
