What is BELEVE?

Belief is an act of faith in someone or something. It is something that is accepted as true.

So what is the truth, you may ask?

The Bible describes God as someone that cannot lie. Titus 1: 2 reads: "And is based ( Faith is based ) on a hope of everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago".

That everlasting life on earth, was and still is God's purpose for the human race.

God's sovereignty was questioned in the garden of E'den. Read Genesis 3: 1-5. Genesis 3: 4 shows that Satan promised Eve that she will be like God if she listened to his voice.

Well ! that did not happen, did it? Genesis 3: 16-19 shows that things went from bad to worse. The worst is when death was spread on the human race, according to Romans 5: 12.

Our reconciliation with God is possible through His beloved Son that was sent on earth 2'000 years ago to redeem the human race from the curse of sin and death and to undo the damage cauded by Satan. Read John 3. 16; 1 John 3: 8.

John 8: 44 reminds us that it is Satan is the one who is the liar and the murderer, because the truth is not in him.

Psalms 37: 29 shows us what our future holds, in these words. " The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it." That promise was held by a God that cannot lie, according to Titus 1: 2.

For the moment our world is lying in the power of the wicked one, according to 1 John 5: 19. And Revelation 12: 9 describes the wicked one as the original serpent, the one called the Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth. The original serpent promised Eve that she will be like god, and that is where the god-like complex came from, and has caused a lot of suffering in our world.

Ecclesiastes 8: 9 shows that man dominate man to his harm ( or injury; detriment ". And that is no lie. That is what our world is all about and also proves that Satan is the liar.

So to answer your question: Belief in someone or something has to be backed up with trust-worthiness and what is reliable.
