Although it's not entirely clear, after reading several sources, it can be concluded that he's "not very religious." This can mean anything from casual Christian to Agnostic or Atheist. When he accepted the task of writing the soundtrack for the film, "The Bible," however, he said that the book that the movie is based on presents good morals.

Whatever it is, it shouldn't matter what Zimmer's religious affiliation is. He has written some of the best music of this decade, and has produced masterpieces such as the iconic Inception drone and The Lion King Soundtrack that will most likely be remembered throughout the ages. Your view of a genius shouldn't be tainted just because he/she doesn't have the same religious views as yours.
