There are countless people who grow spiritually without ever even having seen the bible. The true foundation for spiritual growth is the willingness to set aside what we think and feel about how things should be, in favor of opening our eyes, hearts, and minds, to what God demonstrates to us day in and day out that God is. Letting go of our ideas about God, and especially what we've been told about God, in favor for our experience of God. Spiritual growth comes from continued, persistent effort in applying spiritual principles (honesty, forgiveness, generosity, humility, acceptance, compassion, etc. to every one of our decisions, rather than living life in management mode, making decisions by judging which outcome is most desirable to us and presuming we know what actions will achieve it. In other words, the ends never justify the means, because the means are what actually matter.)
The foundation for spiritual growth involves self-reflection, mindfulness, and a connection to something greater than oneself, such as a higher power, nature, or the universe. It also includes practices like meditation, prayer, yoga, or engaging in acts of kindness and compassion towards others. Developing a sense of gratitude, purpose, and inner peace are also key elements in spiritual growth.
It's an analogy. Just as foundations in buildings determine what kind of building is built on it so it is with your spiritual beliefs. If you have a large foundation you have a large building. There are also different kinds a buildings around the world that sit on different kinds of foundations. A strong and/or large foundation means you have lots of knowledge in a belief that you put in practice in your everyday life. The true test to your foundation is when the storms of life (bad things) come to wreck your building. A strong foundation with a strong building can weather any storm. People may have their own opinion on what kind of building is right or wrong but in the end it is you and you alone that has to live in it.

Spiritual growth is not worldly growth. In the world, we grow and we have more money when we are more successful. More education, even mental growth is thinking that we have to acquire more and more knowledge and become someone, have a higher IQ. Spiritual growth is growing in the Spirit. It is growing in the realization, more and more, that we are not this body that will die, we are not even the mind that we cannot find. Spiritual growth is evolving on the journey of the Divine Spirit. Realizing that you and I are nothing but the Divine Spirit. How do we grow spiritually? By realizing that the Divine Spirit in you and in me is the same; that the Divine manifests as everything alive on this planet; everything in this world, even which is not alive, is nothing but the manifestation of the Divine. This is spiritual growth.
We do, individually. Spiritual growth is from within. You can start by slowing your thoughts down, being aware of them and eventually choosing them. Your thoughts create your world.
