There are a few additional books in the Catholic Old Testament (e.g., Tobit, Wisdom, Sirach, etc.) and the Eastern Orthodox Old Testament (e.g., 1 Esdras).
The additional books are often called the Biblical apocrypha. These books are present in a few historic Protestant versions such as the German Luther Bible as did the English 1611 King James Version.
The Old Testament makes up about 77% of the Bible. It contains the books that were written before the birth of Jesus Christ, including historical accounts, prophecies, laws, and poetry.
