Although this medical condition is relatively rare, according to Dr. Frederick Zugibe (Chief Medical Examiner of Rockland County, New York) it is well-known, and there have been many cases of it. The clinical term is "hematohidrosis." "Around the sweat glands, there are multiple blood vessels in a net-like form." Under the pressure of great stress the vessels constrict. Then as the anxiety passes "the blood vessels dilate to the point of rupture. The blood goes into the sweat glands." As the sweat glands are producing a lot of sweat, it pushes the blood to the surface - coming out as droplets of blood mixed with sweat. So the reason why Jesus was sweating blood is that He was under a lot of stress. Read Luke 22.

Christians believe that Jesus sweating blood, known as hematidrosis, was a physical manifestation of the extreme stress and agony he was experiencing in anticipation of his crucifixion. This event is often seen as a powerful symbol of Jesus's willingness to endure suffering for the salvation of humanity.

Why is the catholic priest able to change the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus?

Catholics believe in the doctrine of transubstantiation, which teaches that during the Eucharist, the bread and wine are transformed into the actual body and blood of Jesus Christ, while still retaining the appearance of bread and wine. This is based on the belief in the priest's power to act in persona Christi, or in the person of Christ, during the sacrament of the Eucharist.

The Christian meal that celebrates salvation from sin and death?

The Christian meal that celebrates salvation from sin and death is the Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper. It is a sacrament that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples before his crucifixion and celebrates his sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life. What does it mean to receive Holy Communion?

It is to eat bread and drink wine together with other Christians to remember Jesus' death. The bread represents Jesus' body and the wine represents his blood. See the Bible, 1 Corinthians 11:23:The LORD Jesus on the night he was betrayed, took bread and when he had given thanks he broke it, saying "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, do this in remembrance of me"The reason Jesus wanted Christians to receive communion was because he died so that he could be punished instead of sinners, IE: everyone. So they didn't have to be punished in hell. For this reason, those who know this and accept Jesus as their savior and turn away from their sin can be forgiven and go to heaven when they die. These people are true Christians. Jesus knew they would need a constant reminder of what he had done for them, so he set up the ritual of communion.
