If by 'people' in the Old Testament, you mean the Jewish people, they would have called God by many descriptive terms, like Elohim (Lord of Hosts), or El Shaddai (God Almighty) among others, and they would only use the sacred name of God as revealed by God Himself in written form in the Scriptures, usually transliterated into Roman form as YHWH, with a close approximation of pronunciation usually rendered as 'Yahweh', which later became 'Jehovah' in the West due to some bad linguistic work by the early Christians. The name YHWH comes from the Biblical account of God revealing Himself to Moses as the God of his forefathers, namely, "I am that I am" I believe it is still Jewish tradition to never speak this name aloud, instead substituting another name like Elohim when reading from the Torah. If you were asking what other (non-Israelite) people from that time called God I suppose that would be dependent on which deity they were referring to... Although I believe the generic term 'Baal', meaning 'Lord' was used as a prefix for most.
The Bible is called testaments because there is 2 different testaments the new testament and the old testament the new testament is after Jesus was born and the old testament was before Jesus was born.
The Old Testament laid the foundation for the coming of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. The New Testament fulfills the prophecies and promises made in the Old Testament, showing how they are interconnected and part of the overarching narrative of God's plan for humanity. Jesus himself often referenced the Old Testament scriptures to demonstrate how they foretold his arrival and mission.
The book of the Old Testament that is also called Canticles is the Song of Solomon. It is a collection of love poems between two lovers that has been interpreted as an allegory of the relationship between God and his people.
In spite of strenuous efforts by Christian theologians to prove that Christ can be found in the Old Testament, the truth remains that Jesus is never mentioned anywhere in the Old Testament. It may well be that Christ is God, but the Old Testament does not say so.
In both the Old and New Testaments, God spoke to Jesus in an audible voice. At Jesus' baptism in the New Testament, God's voice was heard affirming Jesus as His Son. In the Old Testament, on the Mount of Transfiguration, God's voice was also heard confirming Jesus' identity.
In the Old Testament, God was called Father to symbolize his role as the creator and protector of his people, similar to a father's care and authority over his children.

brunt offering
Many Gnostics saw the God of the Old Testament as an angry and capricious god, who demanded sacrifices, encouraged genocide and was vain, in that he demanded constant worship. They could not imagine that the God of the Old Testament could be the same god as the loving god of the New Testament. Because they could not see the Old Testament God and the New Testament God to be the same, they decided that the Old Testament God was a lesser god, who was not even aware of the New Testament God in the higher heavens. Thus, he believed himself to be the only God and the Lord of creation, but there was (in Gnostic view) a higher God. To many, it was not so much that the Old Testament God was evil, it was that he was wholly ignorant.
God has no father.God has existed eternally as He is. Of course, we know that Christ is also God, and is referred to as God's Son as also the Holy Spirit is God. One God, three divine persons (along with the Holy Spirit they make up what is called the trinity). But there is no old testament scripture of God having a father.
"The Almighty" is what God is called in the Old Testament's Book of Job.But the term is not a distinctive feature of that book. Specifically, the term is used elsewhere in the Bible. For example, it occurs in the Old Testament Books of Numbers, Ruth and Isaiah and in the New Testament Book of Revelation.
The difference of the sons of god , in the two testaments are that in the old testament Jesus is the son of god. But in the New Testament we to can be the sons of god . If only we do believe that Jesus died for our sins.
This is not an entirely accurate statement of the Gnostic Christian belief about the nature of God. They could not believe that the harsh and unjust God of the Old Testament was the same as the loving and forgiving God of the New Testament, so they believed there must be two gods. The God of the Old Testament became the Demiurge, while the supreme God is the God of the New Testament. Thus, God of the New Testament is good and the Demiurge, the God of the Old Testament, is the bad God.
no
Bibles, called "Red Letter Editions" feature the words of Jesus Christ in red. Jesus only appears in the New Testament, that is why there is no red in the Old Testament. Truly every word of the Holy Bible is inspired by God, and the lack of red in no way diminishes the importance of the Old Testament.
No as they were common people called by god, one was even a shepherd.
Yes, polygamy was practiced in the Old Testament by some individuals, but it is not explicitly condoned or endorsed by God.
