YESTERDAY
Answer 1Both religions are from the same God, the one and only one God. Christianity is the religion per God revelation of the Bible to prophet Jesus while Islam religion is that religion per God revelation of the Qur'an to prophet Muhammad. Christianity originated to recall the Jewish to the right God Path and Islam originated as the final God message to call all mankind including calling both Jews and Christians to the right God Path of full submission (Islam in Arabic) to God, the Creator, the one and only one God.Both religions believe in God prophets (although not all of them are believed in by the Bible) Believe in the Virgin Mary (there is a complete chapter (Chapter 19) in Quran titled Mary or MariamBoth religions believe in God and his Angels, the second eternal life, the Day of Judgment, the Paradise and the Hell. Both religions are sharing the main morals and conducts that are for the benefit of humanity and nature. They believe in the same basic morals that are important for people to follow in order to live in peace, harmony, and love in communities with different faiths and cultures. Examples of such morals are don't kill (without right or authority), don't steal money or others property, don't lei, don't cheat, ... etc.,Although some Christians believe that Jesus is God or son of God while Muslims believe that Jesus is human and born by God miracle from the virgin Mary (Mariam), both religions believe in the same God (the Creator). In Islam, Jesus and Mohamed are two of the five greatest prophets (The other three are: Noah, Abraham, and Moses- peace upon them all). Both religions are similar in practicing mutual respect to their believers. Quran says (meaning English translation):".... You will find the nearest in love to Muslims those who say 'we are Christians'. That is because amongst them are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world and they are not arrogant. And when they listen to the Quran revelation received by the Messenger (Muhammad), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognized. ... So because of what they said, Allah (God) rewarded them ...."[Quran, chapter 5, verses 82-86]In brief, followers of both religions; commonly and similarly; believe in:God the CreatorAngelsThe devil and satinAll God prophets (Adam, Abraham, Noah, Jacob, Isaac, Moses, ..., and Jesus. However, some Christians do not believe in Muhammad as God prophet)All God holy books (some Christians do not believe in Quran as God revelation to Prophet Muhammad)Last Day of JudgmentThe second eternal lifeHell and Paradise/Heaven in the other lifeResurrection Day and the Eternal second lifePraying, Alms Giving, and fasting (but with different rituals and rules)Doing good deeds for the benefit of community, mankind and nature.the commandments (forbidding adultery, robbery, unjustified killing, cheating, ... and lyingPracticing mutual respect to their believers. Qur'an says (meaning English translation): ".... You will find the nearest in love to Muslims those who say 'we are Christians'. That is because amongst them are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world and they are not arrogant. And when they listen to the Quran revelation received by the Messenger (Muhammad), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognized. ... So because of what they said, Allah (God) rewarded them ...." [Quran, chapter 5, verses 82-86]the following beliefs about Jesus: The Virgin BirthJesus miracles of raising the dead and healing the blind and the lepersHe is the MessiahHe ascended to HeavenHe will be back to make to restore belief in God the CreatorBoth religions are different only in some faith issues that are regarding the relationship between yourself and your God which is a matter to be resolved by God on the Day of Judgment. However, both religions are quite similar in all issues regarding relationships among all people. In reality, there are no differences between the two religions regarding the way that people of different religions should treat each other. This, logically and spiritually, calls all people to live together in love, peace, and harmony regardless their different religions or beliefs. Answer 2 (Comment on Answer 1)Both religions do not believe in the same God as Allah of Quran is different from the God of the Christians: Allah says He is the Best of Deceivers (Surah 3:54, 8:30). God of the Christians is not a deceiver as when God became a human in Jesus Christ He said I AM the Truth (John 14:6). Allah of the Muslim is not called Father but the Christians call their God Father. Allah of the MUslims thought Trinity consists of Father, Son and Mary while the God of the Christians taught Trinity as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) Allah of the Muslims say Jesus did not die but the God of the Christians teach that Jesus died for our sins as happened in history and as foretold by Jewish prophets.Allah's revelation does not follow the revelation brought through the Jewish prophets except in the case of One God.Hints on Answer 2 aboveThe three religions stem from same God (called in Arabic Allah). God is the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no father, no companion, no associate, and no equivalence). It is to be noticed that the Best of Deceivers is not of God names or attributes. It is mentioned in Quran in context of long debate. So, it is misleading to truncate some words and base a conclusion on it. It is more logic to read the full text and then make a conclusion. Calling God as a father sure is not meant as a physical father. Jesus is believed by Muslims as one of the greatest five prophet (namely; Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad; peace be upon them) and never believed as son of God. Even some Christians don't believe that Jesus is God or son of God. The differences between Christian and Muslim beliefs do not impose that God of Muslims is not the same God as God of Christians or Jews.Answer 3They both follow what was originally the same God, and they both grew out of Judaism.Comment on Answer 3The people who say that Christianity and Islam "grew out of Judaism" are denying God. God revealed the Torah to Moses - it was not man-made. So Christians will say that God gave revelation to Jesus later on. Muslims would say that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad. They weren't just making it up in imitation of those before them. It was God sending new messages at times when it was appropriate to send a new message. In theory at least--people of any ethnicity or nationality can be Muslim or Christian. This has not always been the case with every religion.Islam and Christianity share a common history with Judaism although there are variances between those histories depending on who you ask. Both consider Adam to have been the first man; Moses and Abraham to have been important founding fathers; Jerusalem to be a holy city.In Islam, Jesus was a prophet and is respected as such. The canonical scriptures of Christianity--on the other hand--are thought to predate the time of Mohammad and so Mohammad is not generally recognized in Christianity. In addition to the above:The two religions, Christianity and Islam, have in common all social values, morals, and principles of life. Both religions call for good deeds such as honesty, helping the poor, taking care of old people, to be nice and sympathetic with women and children, not spoiling the environment, to be kind with animals, not to kill without authority, not to steal, not to cheat, not to terrify the innocents, ... etc. These common social objectives of both religions are what we should maximize, observe, and agree upon in order to bring world societies to peace, love, and justice. Both religions believe in God, Day of Judgment, Paradise&Hell, Angels, and prophets (although Christians not believing in all of them)Islam is similar to Christianity in that both believe in a supreme being who is the creator of the universe. In reality, there really is no similarity to best describe the Judeo-Christian beliefs of God to the Muslim Islamic belief. Judaism and Christianity have the Old Testament in common. Islam believes both OT and NT have been partially corrupted in transmission while the Koran is believed by Muslims to be the final and infallible revelation of God's will.Though Muslims believe in God which they call Allah, Islam teaches that Allah is all-powerful, sovereign and 'unknowable' while Judaism and Christianity both teach the Creator God to be revealed as merciful, compassionate and knowable (see Jeremiah 9:24 and John 17:3).The Christian text teaches the God of the Old Testament was the Word and it was He who Abraham and the other patriarchs and prophets worshiped. Islam teaches the Word, aka Jesus 'as one of perhaps 124,000 messengers of prophets Allah has sent and is one of the 25 listed in the Koran - but He is not the redeemer' (Marvin Olasky, "Islam vs. Liberty," World, Sept 10, 2011).All in all, there are more differences and conflicts between the Judeo-Christian texts and the Muslim text, as well as the Koran conflicts with secular history.Islam and christianity both believe in one God and that he is the creator and the all merciful and the great. Christians belief that God has a son; however the muslims believe that God has no mother, father, son, daughter; etc. Just to let you know I myself am Muslim.
Any religion that has intolerant believers. There are good and bad people from any faith. Christians have committed horrible acts in the past, from wiping out entire villages so that "God can sort out the good people", to genocide. Americans are inclined to point fingers at Islam, but just as most Christians are decent people, so are most Muslims.
Juma, which literally translates to Friday is the most religious day of the week for Muslims (similar to Saturday for Jews and Sunday for Christians). Muslim men are obligated to pray the afternoon prayers (refered to as Zuhr) in the mosque with the congregation. The Imam or preacher also gives a sermon and the prayers or namaz (farsi/urdu word for prayers) is shorter than the regular Zuhr prayers (Juma prayers are 2 Rakat Faraz vs 4 Rakat for Zuhr). If a person misses their Juma prayer then they are obligated to do the regular Zuhr prayers.
It is not a crime to belong to a sect or to act in the interest of the sect to which you belong, however, in a certain poetic sense, there is a punishment for sectarianism, which is that those who practice sectarianism will inevitably find themselves in conflict with members of different sects. The most horrible example is seen in the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict, Jews vs. Muslims. Although it is as much an ethnic conflict as it is a religious conflict.
People are not in conflict with ideas, they are in conflict with other people who have opposing ideas. Religious conflict in particular is usually characterized by one religion conflicting with another religion, rather than by man vs. religion. Although there are atheists who oppose the idea of religion in general. That has generally been an intellectual debate, rather than a conflict.

Most religious people try to live their lives in harmony with others, without contributing to social problems. Nevertheless, religions have given rise to social problems down throught the centuries. We can think of Catholics who have been forbidden from marrying Protestants. Christians and Muslims who believe that their respective religions forbid them to marry and thus force them to give up their chance for happiness. We can think of civil war and fighting between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland, between Christians and Muslims in Lebanon, and between Jews and Muslims in Israel and the Palestinian territories. We can think of exclusive Christian sects that discourage their members from having friends outside the Church, and which can cut a dissident member adrift without friends or emotional support. We can think of Christian Churches that seek to impose their own values on those who do not share their views, to their detriment. And we can think of Muslims who wish to have Sharia law imposed on all Muslims, and according to their strict interpretation of Sharia law.Religion in GeneralAll religion divides people. No. Muslims worship Allah and Christians worship Jesus. Muslims believe that Jesus is a messenger of Allah but Christians believe Jesus is both the son of God and God himself.
