∙ 15y agoMatthew 27:9 refers to a prophecy about Judas' betrayal found in Jeremiah 32:6-9, but there is no direct equivalent in the Book of Jeremiah. This has caused some debate among scholars with some suggesting it could be a classification error.
The abbreviation of Jeremiah is Jer.
The first five books of the New Testament are Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts.
Another answer from our community:The dates of the events in the book of Jeremiah is from the Judean king Josiah's 13th year (or 627BC) in Jeremiah 1:2 to beyond the fall of Jerusalem ( or 586BC) in Jeremiah 39, 40, and 52. As Jewish tradition is that Jeremiah was taken captive by the Babylonians when they invaded Egypt (he went to Egypt - see Jer 43, 44) in 568/67 BC, it could not have been actually written much later than that.
Jeremiah was from the Kingdom of Judah. He was a Hebrew prophet who lived during the late 7th and early 6th centuries BCE.
God appeared to Jeremiah through a vision where He showed Jeremiah an almond tree branch and a boiling pot facing north. This vision symbolized God's watchfulness and impending judgment on Judah.

Chronicles, Ezra, Matthew. Do you mean the Prophet or just the name? He also wrote Lamentations, if that's what you mean.
Zechariah 11:12, 13. In Matthew 27:9 this prophecy is attributred to Jeremiah, and many people wonder why. The fulfillment of prophecy recorded by Matthew is based on "what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet." Jeremiah was at times placed first in "the book of the prophets," and this section of prophecies therefore included not only Jeremiah's writings but also those of Zechariah. The quotation made by Matthew appears to be drawn principally from Zechariah 11:12, 13, but paraphrased by Matthew and applied to the circumstances fulfilling it, this under inspiration by God's spirit. In the book of Psalms we are told of Judas.
