Humanity is drawn to religion for many reasons. Some being curiosity, wonder, fear, and to have an identity. Superstition, and in order to make sense of the world around us. Once a religion becomes viable and its proponents discover a source of profits, we then have temples and offerings and many reasons to donate money or goods to the cause. This is why historically priests have lived pretty well. Humanity is drawn to religion for the same reason that some are drawn to science. Humanity is seeking s to life/death which goes deeper than simply living to die. Humans refuse to believe that their existence is transient and that they only get one lifetime. Science has been able to provide realistic s to some of the challenging questions about space (heaven), the earth's core (hell), nature (plagues, droughts, floods, storms, etc) and the miracles of genetics. People like to dream of fairytales like Cinderella, Jack's Beanstalk and the Land of Oz because it lets them believe that there is a pot of treasure at the end of the rainbow. People dream/wish that there is a hero who will save the day and destroy the bad/evil/demon. Although science has debunked most of the fallacies of religion, it has not yet been able to explain the force which when present keeps an entity alive and when absent causes death. Science has not yet been able to authenticate the source of intelligence inherent in every subatomic nanoparticle. Therefore religion would continue to have its fantasy type attraction for those who choose to dream and hope that perhaps they can one day manipulate the subtle intelligence of the universe to create their own miracles. Tradition, family, cultural and community examples or pressure which reinforce the need to belong, and, dare I say, superstition, in which I include fear of what happens after death.
Glauber's Salt is used in Lymphatic Cleanses. It is a diuretic and can be used as a laxative. Glauber's Salt (sodium sulfate or Natrum Sulph (#11)?? tissue salt sold at health food stores) is sold in Jamaica, W.I., boxed for individual use (about one tablespoon per box) and costs about $.60 US. You mix one tablespoonful (or one box from Jamaica) into 8 oz of filtered or distilled water and drink upon waking in the morning. You will begin to excrete within one half hour. Meantime, juice (with citrus juicer or just squeeze) six large grapefruits to equal one quart of liquid and mix with one quart of good water (not town water). Drink the half gallon mixture over the next three hours (and stay real close to a toilet for the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon). No lunch. Eat something small and light for dinner (fruit or steamed or raw veggies or salad). This protocol (found on the Internet) moves the fluids in your body and detoxifies organs involved. Grapefruit juice is a blood thinner -- no wonder they use it for liver and lymph cleanses! In my case, fluid builds up at my knees and ankles, especially after flying on an airplane. I do this detoxification/ cleanse for my lymphs every month. I do it BEFORE I travel by air now. It is hard on the my body (I am sensitive and nature-bound only -- no chemicals for me). I get nauseous at first and then weak and a little tired or dizzy. After six hours I am in great shape. The liver cleanse is even harder on the body, but when the liver spits out your gall and kidney stones and the bile turns green in the toilet, you know your liver is finally working the way it should again. I lost 10 lbs doing the cleanses over four months (once per month) and I didn't diet. My liver is now working correctly and it is burning fat instead of storing it. Leptin signals are now communicating properly. Works for me. Not all results are the same. Do your own research and suit yourself. I can only speak from experience. Anyway, Glauber's Salt is also used in paper and other such things. Hope this helped you. PS -- the Liver Cleanse online uses Epsom Salts, grapefruit juice, olive oil and water. It begins in the early evening; and you must lay on your right side and get to sleep by 11pm when the liver does its work in the body.
There are various opinions about where the biblical land of "Utz" or "uz" or "Oz" is located. It is cited as the land of Job, the central figure of the Book of Job. It may be somewhere in the Middle East, in Jordan or Syria. Or it may simply be a fictitious place, rather like Frank L. Baum's Oz, of The Wizard of Oz.
Job 1:1New International Version (NIV) Prologue1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. Many have determined that this was a land to the east (word 'oz' means east) and was probably in the Kingdom of Edom (see Lamentations 4:21).
The paperback edition of The Wonderful Land of Oz consists of 320 pages.
L Frank Baum's second Oz book is called The Marvelous Land of Oz. It is his only Oz book that does not feature Dorothy Gale.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was the book that the movie was based on. There is a series of books with many more adventures of Dorothy and other characters in the land of Oz.
There is no book by that title. The movie was based upon two of L. Frank Baum's books Ozma of Oz and The Marvelous Land of Oz.
In the book, Dorothy's shoes are silver. The movie changed them to ruby red to show up more vibrantly in Technicolor. Also, the book assigns blue to Munchkinland, yellow to Winkie country (the land in the west of Oz), and red to Quadling country (the land in the south of Oz). These color schemes are not represented in the movie.

The Marvelous Land of Oz is the second book written by Frank L. Baum. All of the books are out of copyright and are available though Project Gutenburg.
