In Acts 2:38 (KJV), it states:
"Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38-39New King James Version (NKJV) 38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
A good way to repent is to first understand that what you have done is a sin and that you have hurt somebody. Second is to ask God forgiveness for what you have done, and lastly, go to the person you have hurt and apologize asking for forgiveness with a humble and contrite heart.
God manifests His loving forgiveness through His grace and mercy, offering redemption and reconciliation to those who seek it. This forgiveness is freely given to all who sincerely repent and turn back to Him, demonstrating His boundless love for His creation.
70 times 7 alwaysAnswer:Unlimited times. God always forgives, no matter what sin, or how many times. As long as we truly repent and ask for His forgiveness in prayer, "He is faithful and just to forgive us."
If a Muslim breaks a rule of their religion, it is generally recommended to seek forgiveness and repent for their actions. Depending on the severity of the rule broken, it may require different forms of atonement or seeking guidance from religious leaders. Ultimately, it is believed that sincere repentance can lead to forgiveness from Allah.
Acts 2:38 says to "repent and be baptized everyone of you for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Christianity endures.Additional Answer:The Scripture teaches all who obey the Commandments and repent, get baptized and follow Christ's example, remaining strong to the end, will become sons and daughters of the God Family - our eternal destiny told to us in the Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. All will be given this opportunity in their Judgement process, as God is not a respecter of men.
Some Bible verses about being baptized include: Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38 - "And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" Romans 6:3-4 - "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."
As Christianity is quite diverse and there may be several answers, IMHO, then I would say what Peter said in Acts 2:38, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
There is no orgin, he has always existed. He came here to save our sins and all we need to do is submit ourselves to him, repent, and ask for forgiveness.
And Peter said unto them repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
According to Scripture, baptism is an adult decision which no other can make for the individual. The idea of infant baptism is a tradition of men.Acts 2:38-39New International Version (NIV) 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call."To 'repent' is a heartfelt, deep sorrow for the ways of the individual who has now yearned to change or do an 180* turnaround. To be able to achieve this turnaround, one needs to be fully in charge of their lives - an adult - and choose for themselves to be baptized.
Pray for forgiveness.
Some Bible verses that discuss baptism and its significance in the Christian faith include: Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38: "Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" Romans 6:3-4: "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." These verses highlight the importance of baptism as a symbol of repentance, forgiveness of sins, and new life in Christ for believers in the Christian faith.
"...Repent, and Be Baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and YE SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT." (Acts 2:38)
Mark 16:16 says "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." Also in Acts 2:37-39, when people asked Peter what must they do to be saved, Peter replied "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." These are word for word quotes, from the New King James translation of Scripture. There is a much deeper discussion on the topic of baptism, but this answers your questions as to some references in scripture. Hope that helps! Mo
