The story of Gideon is God's choice to use the least in worldly stature to deliver the strength of His promises. Through faith and obedience Gideon is able to do what an entire unbelieving nation could not in defeating the enemy. Gideon glorifies God and in the process is glorified in his deeds. Gideon was a chosen by God as a 'judge' to deliver Israel during the period of the Judges as recorded in the book of that name. Specifically he attacked, with 300 men, a greatly superior force (numerically) of Midianites who had invaded the land of Israel. The account of Gideon is recorded in Judges chapters 6 through 8.

The country defeated by the actions of Judith was Assyria. Judith was a Jewish widow who saved her people by seducing and beheading the Assyrian general Holofernes, which led to the defeat of the Assyrian army.
The Scripture plainly states that Joseph was sold to Midianites for 20 shekels of silver (Genesis 37:28). But the question is why and the Scripture does not directly say. However, the reader may infer that 20 shekels was the going rate at that time but that does not reconcile with later Israelite law for 30 shekels found in Exodus 21:32. The reader may consider the Midianites (term used interchangeably with Ishmaelites as both were sons of Abraham and wandering Arab traders) coming upon this scene sensed foul play and bargained for the lesser price for their silence. Conjecture but plausible with the ways of men, even today. In any event, the reader can see how commentaries and the above explaination are only the views of someone and not direct from Scripture which is silent on this topic - yet provides enough information for these differing viewpoints.
The defeat of Satan is believed to occur at the end of times, as described in various religious texts. It is a concept deeply rooted in eschatological beliefs and varies across different religious traditions.
Gideon defeated the Midianites by using a small army of only 300 men and surprising them with torches and trumpets in the middle of the night. The noise and confusion caused the Midianites to turn on each other, leading to their defeat.
With only 300 soldiers Gideon and his men frightened the Midianite armies with trumpets and lights, the Midionites flee and are defeated by Israel. With 300 hundred trumpets blaring away as well as three hundred lights being waved about it was enough to frighten the Midianites, so much so that they were not sure who the enemy was and so fought among themselves. They were pursued by the Isaelites, their princes captured and killed and their army defeated.
We are not told in the Bible about Circumcision and the Midianites. You might find something in Midianite history.

Genesis 37:36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.
God instructed Gideon to reduce his army to just 300 men to confront the Midianites. Initially, Gideon had gathered a much larger force, but God wanted to ensure that the victory would be attributed to Him rather than to the size of Gideon’s army. This smaller group of 300 ultimately defeated the Midianites using unconventional tactics.
