Hua-Ching Ni, who was known as Master Ni in his early days when teaching and lecturing the public, is now affectionately known as OmNi.
As a teacher of natural spiritual truth, OmNi is heir to the ancient wisdom and teaching of an unbroken succession of 74 generations in the Taoist tradition that dates back to the Han Dynasty (216 B.C.). He also belongs to the 38th generation of healers in the Ni family legacy. As a young child, he was educated by his family and spent his youth learning from highly achieved masters in the mountains and cities of China. Later, he continued to study many traditions and spiritual arts from a broad range of teachers. After several decades of persistent searching and with intensive training, study, and re-examination, he brought the ancient wisdom (now known as the Integral Way) alive for us today by using modern language.
OmNi's early life in China was full of challenges and wonder. In 1949, he left his entire family and went alone to Taiwan to carry on his family legacy. There he lived for 28 years and became a renowned healer, teacher, and writer. He has said that the hardships in life have made him stronger, deeper, and perhaps a bit wiser.
OmNi's spiritual teaching began to attract international attention from those eager to learn the Integral Way of life. In 1976, he was invited by a group of American students to live in Los Angeles where he continued to practice Traditional Chinese medicine and transform the lives of people. In 1989, he and his two sons, Drs. Daoshing Ni and Maoshing Ni, founded a school of Chinese medicine, Yo San University, in order to transmit their traditional knowledge of healing to future generations. During his spare time, OmNi continued to write and lecture worldwide on topics of natural spiritual truth and ancient wisdom, tai chi, qi gong, Taoist meditation and internal alchemy.
Though now retired from medical practice and general teaching, OmNi's tireless passion to bring about a better world keeps him writing. His goal is to help people rebuild their natural, healthy energy and awaken their spiritual potential. He has written over 70 books in English and around 50 in Chinese. His books are full of treasures gleaned from his own experience and development. They are wise guides for those searching for genuine spiritual understanding and a healthy way of life.
OmNi's teaching of the Integral Way transcends conventional Taoism and folk traditions. Deeply rooted in natural spiritual truth, his work comes from the three ancient teachings of Lao Tzu's Tao Teh Ching, the teachings of Chuang Tzu, and the I Ching, the Book of Changes and the Unchanging Truth. His approach inspires spiritual self-sufficiency, which marks the key difference between a true spiritual teacher and those who foster spiritual and emotional dependency. The Integral Way has uplifted and expanded the consciousness of thousands of people and we hope you too will be uplifted and inspired.
