Historically and Biblically, this question can be very hard to . It is my opinion that the trial of Jesus never happen, and the death of Jesus cannot be blamed on the Pharisses or Pontius Pilate.
Neither one killed Jesus. Jesus was predestined by God to die on the cross, and God used the Pharisses, Pontius Pilate and Judas to accomplish this.
Pontius Pilate. The same Pontius Pilate who mixed the blood of the Galantiens with their sacrifices. In other words the same Pontius Pilate who killed many Galantiens, (when they went to make sacrifices at the Holy Temple) washed his hands after ordering Jesus to be crucified.
In the movie "Jesus of Nazareth," the character of Pontius Pilate was played by British actor Rod Steiger. Steiger's portrayal of the Roman governor received critical acclaim for its complexity and depth.
Pontius Pilate was the Roman official who condemned Jesus to die by crucifixion. He served as the prefect of the Roman province of Judea during the time of Jesus' trial and crucifixion.
A:In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and John, Pontius Pilate alone tried Jesus and sentenced him to death, although most unwillingly. In the Gospel of Luke, Pontius Pilate was asked by the religious authorities to try and sentence Jesus but, being unwilling to sentence an innocent man and learning that Herod Antipas was in Jerusalem, sent Jesus to Herod to be sentenced. Herod, in turn, was unwilling to sentence Jesus and so left Pilate with this terrible responsibility.
Pontius Pilate certainly could have freed Jesus. Historians say that it would have been unacceptable to the Roman authorities for a Roman governor to give in to the demands of the Jews in the way described in the gospels. If he really did sentence Jesus to crucifixion without due cause, he would have risked immediate recall to Rome, in disgrace. Whether or not Pontius Pilate would have altered the course of Christian history by freeing Jesus is a matter for debate. Many scholars believe that the beginning of Christianity had very little to do with the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
Generally, the crowd before Pontius Pilate, led by the Pharisees and elements of the Sanhedrin.

Yes Pontius Pilate was married, as it was his wife who told him not to have anything to do with Jesus.
He is the truth
There is no clear historical evidence that Pontius Pilate repented for his actions in condemning Jesus to crucifixion.
According to the Bible account:The Jewish religious leaders 'ordered' his death. The Pharisees of that Sanhedrin were all complicit in plotting his death. The High Priest actually ordered his death (Matthew 26:63-66; esp vs 66)Pilate 'filled' the order.John 19:10,11 (esp vs 11) states that the ones who delivered Jesus to Pilate, had greater sin.
