Jesus said this to condemn pride and pretense. It is quite ok to call you dad father. Jesus was speaking of spiritual titles and giving undue spiritual authority to a human being, as if he were the the source of truth rather than God.
The second coming of Jesus is often referred to as the "Second Coming" or the "Return of Christ" in Christian theology. This event is believed to be when Jesus will return to Earth in glory to fulfill the rest of the prophecies about him.
He is referring to God, and implies that nobody else should use the title "father".He is referring to God, and implies that nobody else should use the title "father".He is referring to God, and implies that nobody else should use the title "father".He is referring to God, and implies that nobody else should use the title "father".
My friend, there are numerous cases wherein Christ Jesus called God "Father". Here are a few examples: Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. (John 5:19, New International Version) "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. (John 12:49, New American Standard Bible) 17 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (John 17:1-3, English Standard Version)
The question is asking if Jesus of Nazareth is a member of the Holy Trinity is he also a God? In the bible, Jesus Christ is know as other titles- see Isaiah 9:6 makes reference to Wonderful Counsellor, Redeemer and so forth..... Primarily, Jesus of Nazareth is known as the Son of God. He is also part of the Trinity as it says in Matthew 28V19 '19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,'. This scripture explains that he is part of the Trinity, this does not make him a God, but the Son of a God. it is through him that we are saved today and we worship him because of what he achieved on earth during his 3.5 years of ministry. We who call ourselves Christians have to live by his example. Jesus is represented in the bible as God's Son made in his image, therefore, Jesus is a member of the trinity, but he is not a God as such.
The Pharisees referred to Jesus as "rabbi," a term meaning teacher or master. They also used the derogatory term "Beelzebul" to accuse Jesus of being possessed by demons or Satan.
Jesus prayed continuously, the Father's will, not His. His entire life was to be of service to the Heavenly Father, an example for all people on earth.
Matthew 23:9 - Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. [NKJV]This does not mean not to call your biological male parent your father; it means not to delegate the title of "father" to anyone but God.
Yes God is Jesus father. Jesus called him so.
Why we could not call any maan holy father is because we have a Father and his name is GOD/JESUS. If we call any man our holy father than what did they do for us to help us in anyway? GOD/JESUS died for us on the cross to save us from our sins, so that is why we call God/JESUS our Holy Father.
think of jesus like a lord and God/Father as a king
My Father
Catholics do call God father. Not to do so would be heretical as Jesus, himself, said we should address him as Our Father.
During his time on Earth, the disciples called Jesus "Rabbi" or "Teacher."
In Aramaic, Jesus called God "Abba," which means "Father" or "Daddy."
The Bible does not have a specific verse that says "reverend no man." However, in Matthew 23:8-10, Jesus instructs his disciples not to call anyone on earth their father, teacher, or instructor, as they have one Father and one instructor who is in heaven. This can be interpreted as a directive to not place undue reverence or adoration on any human being.
God Lord Jesus Father in Heaven are among the most common titles or names (in English) that different Christian groups use to call their god.
The scriptures call his father Jehovah. Psalms 83:18 says he is the most high over all the earth.Joseph was his earthly father, God his heavenly father.
