Does this mean that women should not speak in church services? It is clear from 11:5 that women prayed and prophiesied in public worship. It is also clear in 12-14 that women are given spiritual gifts and are encouraged to exercise them in the body of Chirst. women have much to contribute and can participate in worship services.

In the Corinthian culture, women were not allowed to confront men in public. Apparently some of the women who had become christians thought that their christian freedom gave them the right to question the men in public worship. This was causing division in the church. In addition, women of that day did not receive formal religious education as did the men. women could ask questions at home, without disrupting the services. Paul was asking the women not to flaut their christain freedom during worship. The purpose of Pauls words was to promote unity, not to teach womens roles in the church.

Do Muslims use BC and AD?

Some Muslims may use the terms BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) in a historical context, but it's more common for Muslims to use AH (Anno Hegirae) which is based on the Islamic lunar calendar that begins with the migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE.

Who are some famous Muslim explorers?

Ibn Battuta was one. He went all around Africa from Morocco, then to Afghanistan, and from there to China and back. This was all before 1369, and it was even more impressive than Marco Polo's travels. Zheng He was a muslim chinese who sailed the seas up to Africa before 1433. Mustafa Zemmouri is considered the first african to set foot on the american continent. Although he was a spanish slave and not an explorer per se, he did a fair bit of exploring himself.

What is the difference between Hijri calendar?

The Islamic calendar, also known as the Muslim calendar, is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days. Being a purely lunar calendar, it is not synchronized with the seasons. With an annual drift of 10 or 11 days, the seasonal relation repeats about every 33 Islamic years. It is used to date events in many Muslim countries (concurrently with the Gregorian calendar), and used by Muslims everywhere to determine the proper days on which to fast Ramadan and perform Hajj, in addition to celebrate other Islamic holy days and festivals. The first year was the Islamic year beginning in 622 CE during which the emigration of the Islamic prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina, known as the Hijra, occurred. Each numbered year is designated either H for Hijra or AH for the Latin anno Hegirae (in the year of the Hijra).[1] The current Islamic year is 1433 AH, from approximately 26 November 2011 (evening) to 14 November 2012 (evening). It is also called the Hijri calendar, (Arabic: التقويم الهجري‎; at-taqwīm al-hijrī; Persian: تقویم هجری قمری ‎ taqvim-e hejri-ye qamari; Turkish: Hicri Takvim; Urdu: اسلامی تقویم Islami taqwīm; Indonesian: Kalender Hijriah; Malay: Takwim Hijrah)
