2Chronicles 7:14 if they pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again.

The 'they' in this verse is the nation of Israel. God is telling Solomon what Israel should do when God chastises them (when they turn from God).

This doesn't apply to directly Christians today because God doesn't say to Christians He will bless them and make their land prosperous. God's covenant with Israel was one of obedience and blessing. God would bless Israel in the land if they were obedient.

God's covenant with believers is a covenant of grace. This may be defined as that gracious agreement between the offended God and the offending sinner in which God promises salvation through faith in Christ, and the sinner accepts this by faith - promising a life of faith and obedience
