That is the Jewish feast day fifty days following Passover when the Holy Spirit is said to have come upon the apostles and other early believers in Jerusalem. The christians then via the Holy Spirit told the Gospel story to thousands of visiting Jews from other countries, each in their native language (even though the christians did not know those languages). Some of these Jews converted and when they returned home spread Christianity. It basically triggered the first "explosion" of Christianity into the world outside Jerusalem and Galilee. The fact that uneducated Galileans spoke so many different languages that day shocked many Jews.
Unlike the way Pentecostal churches interpret this scripture, I personally see no reason for another miracle such as this one these days. We have no shortage of educated trained translators to translate The Bible to any language needed now. The early christians did not and needed some help spreading the word. While God can do any miracle he wishes, he is not one to expend his efforts where they aren't needed or where he is not likely to receive the credit (especially if it would just build pride in the person getting the miracle, as is so common among Pentecostals).
BTW, I grew up in the AOG and am very familiar with Pentecostalism. Yet I can never be a Pentecostal because of what I believe is their misinterpretation of that section of Acts. I have spoken in "tongues", but it felt wrong; I am sure it was just babbling to satisfy peer pressure at that moment.
Without Pentecost, Christians would not have received the Holy Spirit, as recounted in the Bible. This event is considered the birth of the Christian church and is essential to the faith. It is celebrated as a significant event in the church calendar.
It was 50 days, because Jesus was crucified on the Passover and Pentecost is 50 days after that. This is important because the Jewish feast of Pentecost included the offering of two loaves of unleavened bread representing the first fruits of the harvest (see Lev. 23:17-20 , Deut. 16:9-10), Jesus is the First Fruit of the Harvest, and Pentecost in the Christian Church is also the anniversary of the coming of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2).
3000 were added to the Church on the day of Pentecost.
At Pentecost, as depicted in the Bible in Acts 2, the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles in the form of tongues of fire, enabling them to speak in different languages. This empowered them to spread the message of Christianity to people from various regions who were gathered in Jerusalem at that time. The event is considered the birth of the Christian church.
The Pentecost event is described in the book of Acts, not in the Gospels. It is recorded in Acts 2:1-41, where the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles and they spoke in other languages, marking the beginning of the Christian Church.

The church feast after Pentecost is called Trinity Sunday. It is observed on the Sunday following Pentecost to honor the Christian belief in the Trinity - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It serves as a reminder of the central mystery of the Christian faith.
