A personal relationship with God looks like a personal relationship you would have with a friend. You talk to them- telling them your thoughts, fears, failures, joys, and excitement. You want to know about them and what they like. Most importantly, you want to spend time with them.

That may seem kinda weird because God can seem so distant to us. Some people don't feel like they can treat God as a friend because God seems so holy and mighty. Although he is righteous, he doesn't want to be an unapproachable God.

That's where Jesus comes in. Jesus, God's son came an lived on Earth and experienced every struggle we as humans experience.

Back to your question...The way God allows us to have a personal relationship with him is through Jesus' death on the cross. He didn't deserve to die, but died in our place. If we accept that amazing gift, God sees us as sinless! He is such a merciful God and a father full of grace.

If you haven't accepted his grace, know that because of Jesus death, you can totally do that!
