Different cultures might go through phases where what they call 'immorality' waxes and wanes, and there are probable times and places when people behaved better than they do here and now; but I wouldn't swap this for Rome under the Emperors, or Europe in some of its darker periods (especially when the immorality was institutionalised, as under the Inquisition).
